Do you want to be a force behind your child’s success in school…
… and have fun doing it?
It’s not easy to balance work, life and the educational needs of your child. The narrow window of time you spend together is precious, and your first thought may not be extra school work.
Hear us out…
Sharing in their work, their learning struggle, forms a deep connection with them. Just like coworkers in an office, allowing a space to preview and debrief on ideas and concepts allows them a space to process thinking with a trusted loved one. 20 minutes a day of this positive attention can change their lives and yours.
There are no right or wrong ways to use this.
Our program will give you the tools to build your own space with your child to have discussions on where they are struggling and more deeply celebrate their mastery of their grade level. You will find something that works with your routine.
You most likely are already volunteering at the fair or buying donuts for the teachers, which is awesome. However, this partnership means a better understanding of the work your student is doing in class.
Using our cards, you will get a sense of each learning target, and you can provide your own perspective on these skills and standards to support your student to be confident in class and love learning. Here is an example:
Developed during the remote learning phase of COVID, the Parent Partnership has worked with teachers and families to develop an easy to use deck of cards to allow families at home to assist in working for each grade level. This deck contains all of the Common Core standards for each grade level in Math, Language, Reading, and Writing written in “parent friendly” language.
All of the cards can be used through our simple set of Routines. Once you get familiar with these icons on the front of the card, you will be able to address each standard with a few notebooks and a pencil.
There are icons to help you sort and prioritize which cards you will use. You have an entire school year to work so take your time and don’t let yourself get overwhelmed.
You know your child better than anyone else, and they will share with you their confusions much more deeply than they would to any staff in a school. Your words of encouragement and tips on how you learned something might will bring you closer together and build their confidence in the class.
